Terai cannot be separated from the hills: DPM KC
BAGLUNG, Nov 22: Deputy Prime Minister Chitra Bahadur KC has asserted the districts of the Terai could not be separated from the hilly region in the name of changing the demarcation of federal provinces.

Addressing a program organized by the Galkot Service Society to honor him here today, the Deputy Prime Minister alleged that the Madhes-centric political parties were trying to separate the 22 districts in the Terai.
He argued that the current demarcation of the federal provinces was appropriate and asserted the demarcation cannot be done as demanded by the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front.

DPM KC, who is the chairman of the Janamorcha Nepal, claimed that the views against federalism which his party had been professing since the beginning have been proved true now. “Federalism is becoming like a ‘noose around the neck’ for Nepal,” he added.

He also lambasted India for imposing an unannounced border blockade on Nepal, accusing the southern neighbour of political meddling in Nepal and trying to virtually control every sector.

The Deputy Prime Minister made it clear that there would be no compromises on the national integrity, sovereignty and self-respect, stressing on achieving self-reliance through the development of the national capital.

Meanwhile, DPM KC today held discussions with the chefs of the different government offices and the chiefs of the security bodies in the district. RSS
