Shrestha's book on Nepal-China relations launched

KATHMANDU, June 18: A book entitled “Sixty Years of Dynamic Partnership” written on Nepal and China relations by former ambassador Hiranya Lal Shrestha, was launched on Friday.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Chinese ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai jointly launched the book in Kathmandu. The book describes the 60-year relationship between Nepal and China.

Writer Shrestha is a foreign affairs expert.

“China has played vital and positive role as a good neighbor,” Prime Minister Oli said, addressing the book launching ceremony at the prime minister's official residence at Baluwatar on Friday. He also said that his recent China visit was very successful. PM Oli had visited China in March.

“We expect continued support from developed countries like China,” said Oli.

Speaking at the function, ambassador Wu said that the book has given a very vivid description of very unique Nepal-China relations of the past 60 years. “The partnership between the two Asian brothers is joined together by the Himalayas. We are big and small in size but sovereign countries and equal,” he said. He also mentioned that PM Oli's China visit has begun a new chapter in Nepal-China relations.
