Police arrest cheaters

KATHMAN DU, June 17: Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPDC) has arrested two persons accusing them of swindling earthquake victims. According to police, they cheated earthquake victims promising them of sending them to Japan. The arrested are Japanese citizen Hiroshi Morikawa, 55 and Bajra Gurung, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan -2, Lazimpat.
They swindled Janak Raj Poudel, a resident of Gorkha and 11 others with a promise of sending them to Japan for a job with a monthly salary of Rs 30-40 hundred thousand with a help of so called friend who is said to be a manager at a Japanese multinational company named Pasona, and took Rs 1.1 million and thirty thousand in cash. Police said they were on the run after receiving money Despite Morikawa claimed himself a Japanese citizen hasn’t got a passport, and had been working by carrying an ID card of a CEO of an organization named D-Emmanuel Consultancy. Likewise, Gurung had conducted a training to make earthquake-resisted houses, claiming himself as a director of that consultancy.
