KATHMANDU, June 5: Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) has included nine domestic tournaments in its annual calendar that was unveiled on Sunday. The association has also planned to resume the NVA Club Championship for both men and women.

Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu, NVA General Secretary Jitendra Bahadur Chand informed that nine domestic tournaments will be organized in a year.
As per the annual calendar, the NVA will host third edition of the NVA Club Championship for both men and women, Fifth National Women's and Sixth Men's Beach Volleyball tournaments, 20th Women's and 30th Men's Volleyball tournaments, Third National Women's and Men's Club League and the U-15 Inter-school National Volleyball Championship. However, the exact schedules are yet to be announced.

"To host the events we need huge amount of money, so we try to look for sponsors to make all the events successful as we are sure that National Sports Council (NSC) will hardly support financially," said Chand, who added that the current executive committee of the association is capable of taking the game to new heights.

Similarly, Chand claimed that the association will hold various programs to hunt new players as there are no new players to replace the old faces.

"We are planning to hunt new players through school tournaments," added Chand.

Similarly, NVA's newly-elected President Manoranjan Raman Sharma said that his team will be successful to host the entire event as he has links with various business personalities as a business entrepreneur.

"I am not here to execute all the plans but to direct my teams and they will work accordingly to accomplish the plans of the association," said Sharma, who also added that people should not underrate him for unveiling the ambitious programs.

Similarly, the association has planned to host Indian women's volleyball team for two friendly matches on July 28.

The NVA has also decided to send men's and women's teams for the AVC Central Zone Senior Men's and Women's Volleyball Championship to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from September 7 to 15 as well as for the Fifth Asian Beach Games to be held in Vietnam from September 24 to October 3.

The association has also included the Senior Men's and Women's Volleyball events in its annual calendar.

Honoring national women's team members, hosting national coaches refereeing course, national referee refresher course, taking part in international referee candidate course in Qatar and referee refresher course in Thailand and honoring players, coaches and organizations are other events included in the calendar.

"We are also trying to provide platforms to the coaches by sending them to various places for training purpose as well as to look for the talents," said Chand.
